A new framework that teaches practitioners to recognize the hidden connections between the mouth, the body, and symptoms.
The Language Beneath Symptoms™
What if the symptom your client brings to therapy is only one piece of the story?
Most practitioners are trained to explore what their clients think, feel, and experience.
But the body may be holding additional information.
The mouth.
Physical symptoms.
Medical and dental history.
When things began.
The Language Beneath Symptoms™ teaches practitioners to bring these pieces together—not to assign meaning to a symptom, but to discover better questions.
How I Began Seeing What Others Overlooked
Nearly 30 years ago, I began noticing patterns I couldn't ignore.
As a dentist, I was trained to look at the mouth, identify the problem, and treat it.
But over the years, I became curious about something else.
Why did certain symptoms appear when they did?
What else was happening in the body?
What was happening in that person's life at the time?
I began looking beyond the isolated dental finding and paying attention to patterns across the mouth, the body, medical history, and life timeline.
Those observations eventually became the foundation for what I now call The Language Beneath Symptoms™.
Seeing differently changes the questions we ask.
When we widen the lens, a symptom becomes more than an isolated finding.
It becomes one piece of a larger story.
Not a diagnosis of what something “means.”
But another source of information that may help us ask questions we wouldn't have thought to ask before.
The Language Beneath Symptoms™ wasn't created overnight. It emerged from nearly three decades of listening, observing, and connecting patterns that traditional models often overlooked.
“Dr. Isabel has a rare gift for seeing the whole person. Her ability to translate symptoms into meaningful insights has been life-changing.”

What is Biological Dentistry?
Biological dentistry is a whole-person approach to oral health that recognizes the profound connection between the mouth and the rest of the body.
Biological dentistry taught me to see the mouth as part of a much larger system.
Rather than viewing teeth in isolation, biological dentistry considers the relationship between oral health and the rest of the body.
But over the years, I began looking beyond oral health alone.
I started paying attention to the whole clinical story:
Dental history.
Medical diagnoses.
Physical symptoms.
Clenching and jaw tension.
Recurring patterns.
And importantly, when each of them began.
Then I began placing those pieces alongside a person's life timeline and emotional experiences.
Not to assume that one caused the other.
But to notice patterns, relationships, and timing that might otherwise be overlooked—and use them to ask better questions.
That wider lens became the foundation of The Language Beneath Symptoms™.
